Once I started on the assembly (by myself) I just kept going, emboldened by my successes. After finishing the assembly (about 2.5 hours) I plugged it in and it seems to be working great. Very solid and amazingly quiet. I’ve only used it about 10 minutes since assembly today but I think it's a great buy (I will update if anything changes). I am waiting a week to attach the plastic trim parts in order to ensure all the nuts and bolts are tight (a review I had read recommended doing this). I had a nordictrack elliptical previously and this one seems so much better.
