Treadmill Review Guru On SOLE: The Difference Is In The Decks

By: Sydney Kaiser at Treadmill Review Guru

If we were to set foot on any of Sole’s Treadmills blindfolded, we would know the moment our feet hit the deck. It’s not only because we test and spend so much time on Sole Treadmills, but the difference is literally felt underfoot in the decks.

In our treadmill reviews, we highlight our experience testing every model. A large part of that experience is how the treadmill feels to use—you know, what you don’t get from shopping online. The deck feels firm and solid when running on any Sole Treadmill. While providing shock absorption to lessen the impact on your joints, unlike concrete outside, Sole’s Treadmills feel like running out on the road. We can’t recommend this brand enough to runners.

Sole has some of the most high-quality, heavy-duty, and well-constructed home treadmills. Although we’re partial to any Sole machine we test, we especially love (and recommend the most) their folding treadmills. Our favorites are the Sole F80, Sole F85, and Sole F63.

For folks looking for an easy-to-use and reliable treadmill to power through their walks and runs, these are typically three of the main treadmills we recommend to consumers. They’ve also been on our best treadmills list for years.

The SOLE F80

The Sole F80 is what we consider to be the best value. For everything you get - touchscreen, free training content, and streaming apps like Netflix, paired with the solid foldable deck, generous incline, and quiet motor to handle even the most intense runs - for the price, the F80 is an all-around excellent investment.

Earning the title of the best treadmill without a subscription, the Sole F80 is fun, keeping you coming back for more miles without any overhead monthly subscription fees. You can take advantage of the trainer-led workout videos or choose from a standard workout program to adjust the treadmill in the background while watching your favorite show.

We can’t recommend the Sole F80 enough as a treadmill for keeping up with your miles, saving you a little bit of money, and making your runs enjoyable.

The SOLE F85

The Sole F85 is a worthwhile step up from the F80. This treadmill has it all: a nice-sized touchscreen, trainer-led workout videos, preloaded streaming apps, the infamous solid folding deck that we love, and incline and decline.

If you want to get the most out of your training on a powerful treadmill that will still save you some space, then the F85 is the way to go. Six levels of decline might not seem like much, but when you’re running downhill at the 5% grade, it really helps to make a difference in your training for when you hit the roads, trails, or race outside.

The generous 375-lb weight limit makes this folding treadmill our pick for heavy runners, marathoners, and households with athletes needing to burn some energy.

The SOLE F63

Budget treadmills can be pretty hit or miss. A treadmill is already a big investment in your wallet and in floor space in your home. A hit mile after mile is the Sole F63. It’s an entry-level treadmill, but it can keep up with higher-priced treadmills.

The F63 maintains what we love about Sole: a solid, firm deck that’s spacious for all runners yet a little more compact to fit in more homes, a lifetime warranty that instills confidence in the construction that we’re continually impressed by, and a simple console that’s becoming a rarity among home treadmills.

If you’ve ever spent time on treadmills in public gyms where you hop on, press a button, and go, the F63 is like that. The standard workout programs, like Hill, Fat Burn, and HIIT, are straightforward along with the LCD screen.

Although we love the Sole F63 for its price and quality, we like hopping on and remembering a simpler, “screen-free” time. When we want some screen time, a phone or tablet on the device rack or parking the treadmill in front of a TV satisfies the need.

Bottom Line:

Whenever we get a Sole Treadmill into our studio for testing, we already have certain expectations that we’ve become accustomed to. Solid, firm decks to handle our toughest runs, quality and functional designs, and thoughtful content features are what we love about Sole. Whenever consumers ask what treadmill brands to shop from, Sole is one of the top brands you’ll hear us say.

We’ve been testing Sole Treadmills for years and we’re continually impressed with all this brand has to offer for home fitness.
